This workshop is specifically for those who what to focus on B&W capture, editing and printing. You will be working alongside Adrian in his favourite medium and in a small group.

The North Devon coastline is only 40 miles as the crow flies but is one of the most dramatic in the UK. Featuring sprawling sandy beaches and craggy coves; photographically there is something here for everyone. We have the UK’s first BioSphere reserve and the second largest dune system. The Eastern section touches Exmoor and transitions from rocky cliffs to expanses of sand. Across the Taw and Torridge estuaries we head towards the rugged cliffs of Hartland before turning south towards the North Cornwall coast and on to Bude.

You can photograph the ocean with big skies, tiny shells, crashing waves, rock details, surfers in the sunset (yes, even in B&W!) or dune grasses drifting in the wind. Use creative camera techniques, multiple and long exposures to capture scudding clouds or movements of waves and long grasses.

This workshop combines shooting, editing and printing. We are a small group and will divide our time creatively depending on the conditions and needs of the group. The outline plan is for 2 full days shooting and 1 full day developing and printing. Our studio offers the very latest A3, A2 and A1 printers from Canon and Epson and fine art papers from Fotospeed. All of the studio facilities are available during the workshop and we have included a material budget for 1-day of printing.
