The Creative Flow series of workshops is designed to give you more time in one place to develop a connection and a deeper insight into a location.  There will be dedicated time for image review, editing and printing each day. You can choose to join these sessions or spend additional time connecting with the place.

Clovelly is a uniquely beautiful, privately owned, harbour village in North Devon. Car-free, with steep, cobbled pathways winding between picturesque cottages down to the quay and pebbly beach with a small waterfall.  Clovelly Quay is still home to small fleets of fishing boats that fish for herring and mackerel between Clovelly and Bideford Bay.  The quay is one of the few locations in North Devon coast suitable for sunrise as the rising sun lights the streets and harbour.  You can get a flavour of the village here (please be aware that the website is linked to The Red Lion Hotel, rather than The New Inn where we will be based.)  https://www.clovelly.co.uk

Over 4 days we will have time to fully immerse ourselves in this stunning location, exploring nooks and crannies, focusing on the minutia as well as the bigger picture.

Having the ability to return to elements that fascinate you, over and over, promotes creativity and helps the development of creative flow. That is our goal with this series of workshops.

Adrian and Clea will introduce some creative techniques each day in image making and editing for you to then explore in your own way if you choose to do so. We will have printing and book making facilities on hand.

There will be opportunities to work creatively with Clea, making a small notebook/sketch book and, by the end of the week, a handmade book of your favourite photographic prints from the week.

We will be staying at The New Inn, in the heart of the village, so after your arrival, there will be no further need for travel, other than on foot! The nearest train station is Barnstaple. Contact us for transfer options.

The village main street is steep and cobbled, meaning that this location is unsuitable for people with mobility issues. Check the video link above to get an idea of the location. We will not be dashing around; you will literally have days to explore, sit, look, listen and smell your surroundings. You could just sit on the harbour wall all afternoon and soak up the sound of the sea and listen to the gulls.
