Learn to shoot, edit and make a quickie zine from your phone

If you want to get more from your very capable phone camera, this one day workshop is for you. I have been capturing, printing and exhibiting images from my phone for many years. While I use an iPhone, I also have an Android phone. I'll show you how to setup the camera, make basic edits using the built in editor and some more advanced editing using Lightroom and Snapseed.

We will walk through world class cityscapes, capturing images as we go, ending at the Barbican Centre where you will pick your favourite few images and make a small zine to take home.

Agenda

We will meet for coffee at 10am and look at your phone's settings and the various shooting modes. The iPhone does have some special features which we will point out.

After coffee, we will head out to the Monument and shoot the modern building adjacent while refining our shooting settings. From there, we head up past the Walkie Talkie building and into Leadenhall Market. Our next stop is the glass and steel of the financial district.

Finally we head to the Barbican Centre where we will select a few favourite images to practice editing. Your edited images will then be printed for you and we will show you how to make a small zine.

Eating and Drinking

We will pass many food and drink options during the day if you need to top up. We will make sure there is time to for you to grab lunch at a Pret/Costa depending where we are. If you have specific dietary needs, you might like to bring something of your own.

Prerequisites

• No experience is needed

• An iPhone 11 onwards or an Android phone from the last 3-4 years

• Training and tools will be provided during the workshop.

• Please make sure you have suitable travel insurance.
