Printing is a vital stage in the development of an image. The pairing of a digital image with a complimentary paper raises the sum to a higher level and creates a physical work of art. For some images, this final step is magical and will permanently influence the direction of the photographer. This feedback loop has always been a part of photography and remains a vital process to this day.
I have been making digital prints since the late 90's using a sucession of Epson printers. When I became a professional photographer in 2016 I knew that printing needed to be a fundamental part of my workshops. Since then, I have run hundreds of print, capture to print and book making workshops all over the country and abroad. I print about 1000 A3 pages per year and I have made plenty of mistakes along the way! All those mistakes, and discoveries made while working with clients, have given me a deep understanding of printing in colour and black & white.

This small group workshop is based at the studio of Adrian and Clea Beasley, in beautiful North Devon. Over three full days, you will get the chance to understand the fundamentals of printing and editing for print. Finally, you will be able to make prints on a wide range of papers and a few more unusual materials not intended for inkjet printing.
