If you have ever visited Burano, you will know it is a fascinating world of colour. But Burano has a lot more to offer...

Burano is a mere village compared to the city of Venice. There is a small population here, fighting to survive. While the colourful houses attract the day trippers, you only have to walk a few yards to find the quieter side of Burano.

Staying on the island provides a unique opportunity to experience the village. When the day trippers have left, the streets are quiet and after the sun goes down the atmosphere changes completely. If you like Venice at night, you will love Burano.

We will be staying on Burano but Torchello is just a hop away so we will also pay a visit there and climb the tower for an amazing view of the lagoon. You might choose to pop back and make a private visit during your photography days.

If you are a fan of Venetian boats, we hope to visit the rowing club and perhaps the boat yard where you can shoot traditional boats and the interesting tools and equipment, such as the forcola used to hold the oars. Perhaps you will have a go at Venetian rowing?!

Night shooting is a must and we will do as many as you feel able. The wonderful Venetian illumination, combined with the trees and houses reflecting in the waters make for amazing night shoot in Burano.

We will have all our kit with us. Clea and I are working together on this workshop so we can offer editing, printing and book making. You will return home with a personal and unique keep-sake of your visit.

Your accommodation will be double bedded for single occupancy with private en-suite facilities. More details will be provided after booking as there are a number of choices, first come first served.

Agenda
On our first morning, we will have a guided introduction to Burano and Torchello by our friend Silvia. She is a native of Burano and also a qualified tour guide. We will adjust the remainder of our time based on the conditions. We plan to include pre-dawn and night outings, as Burano is especially photogenic at night.
Start and End times
The workshop starts at 6pm on 27th March and ends at 5pm on the 31st March. We have booked your accommodation for the night of the 31st so you can relax at the end of the last day and return home on the 1st April... or if you are an infrequent traveller to these parts, we highly recommend adding some extra nights to explore after the workshop. If you would like extra nights let us know ASAP.
Reaching Burano
You will receive full details of how to get to Burano and your accommodation from Marco Polo or Treviso airports after booking.
